ISA ​International Piano Competition and Masterclass is a great platform for students to interact with world-renowned pedagogues and showcase their talents with like-minded peers. 

Application Deadline

International Students: May 31, 2018

Domestic Students: June 30, 2018

COMPETITION DATES

Semi-Finals: August 12, 2018

Finals: August 13, 2018 

Prizes will be presented at the awards ceremony after the final round.

Within each divison there will be a gold, silver, and bronze medalist , along with best performances in each stylistic period; totaling $8000

The GRAND PRIZE WINNER will receive full scholarship to attend the

2019 International Institute for Young Musicians Summer Music Academy at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS, USA.

REPERTOIRE REQUIREMENTS

Preliminary Video Round*

       - All Divisions: two (2) contrasting pieces 

YOUTH DIVISION (13 yrs & Under) 

Semi-Final Round (no longer than 5 mins):

       - one work from the Baroque era 

       - one work from the Classical era

Final Round (no longer than 10 mins)

       - one work from the Romantic era

       - one work of contestant's own choice**

JUNIOR DIVISION (13 yrs -17 yrs)

Semi-Final Round (10 mins)

       - one work from the Baroque era

       - one or more movements from a Classical sonata or sonatina

Final Round (15 mins)

       - one work from the Romantic era

       - one work of contestant's own choice**

SENIOR DIVISION (18 yrs & Up)

Semi-Final Round (at least 10 mins)

       - one work from the Baroque era

       - one or more movements from a Classical Sonata

Final Round (at least 20 mins)

       - one substantial work from the Romantic era 

       - one work of contestant's own choice**

*All contestants are required to submit a video no longer than ten (10) minutes of two (2) contrasting pieces performed from memory. The video should be uploaded to a video sharing site like YouTube and the link emailed to illuminebridge@gmail.com. Please indicate the contest's full name and age in the subject line and include repertoire information in the body of the email along with video link. Contestants will be notified via email ten (10) days after the application deadline, as to whether they will be invited to compete in-person at the semi-final round.
